What a day in Seahaven Springs! The rain came and went with cinematic flair, leaving puddles and rainbows in its wake, while the whole town seemed to move in perfect synchronization—umbrellas blooming, bakery queues stretching contentedly, and half the village settling outside to feel the warmth. At The Salty Gull, two people savored an unhurried evening in the corner booth, while elsewhere in town, friendships were being formalized over late-night counsel, conspirators compared notes under umbrellas, and somehow—nobody's quite sure how—three separate people became extremely confident about lighthouse engineering. Even the photocopier at Seahaven Mutual joined in the spirit of things, making its familiar noise one more time. As the stars come out over this gentle little town, Truman Beaumont sings badly to his favorite song in the kitchen, blissfully unaware that Seahaven Springs has had quite the eventful day—and that somewhere in the warmth and laughter, a tiny new resident named Rue Callahan is being welcomed into the world with all the love this town can offer.
