Day 1642
What a day in Seahaven Springs—the fog rolled in like it had an appointment, the bees kept their perfect record, and somewhere in town, Truman Beaumont opened an envelope with handwriting he didn't recognize, wondering who on earth was thinking of him. Meanwhile, at Founders Park, our insurance man and our gardener were having what can only be called a disagreement about the proper way to tend a rose bed, while Rex polished glasses and said nothing about the mysterious extra chair now sitting at The Anchor, as if it had always been there. By evening, the town had settled into its familiar rhythm—the cat still napping on the Town Hall steps, the heron at Miller's Pond gaining admirers by the hour, and somewhere on the dock, someone was playing a harmonica that nobody heard and everybody swears they didn't.
