Day 1819
What a day in Seahaven Springs! The orchard bloomed in perfect timing, a mysterious rainbow graced the bay after the rain cleared, and the traveling garden gnome made yet another unexplained appearance—this time on a new porch entirely. At The Anchor, things got spicy when Hattie Whitlow and Jonah Ferris came to blows over the last pickled egg, a disagreement so heated that Sheriff Brody invited Jonah to cool off in the holding cell for the night. Meanwhile, Truman found himself anchored to his desk with paperwork, though not before catching that cinematic rainbow from his window seat. By evening, half the town had drifted outside to enjoy the warmth, and all was quiet again—or as quiet as Seahaven Springs ever gets.
OPEN THIS DAY IN THE BROADCASTWhat was announced
00:00A quantity of paperwork has appeared on Truman Beaumont's desk. Bev has been briefed to keep him at it.
07:00The lights of Seahaven Springs flickered for exactly three seconds. The town clock is unbothered.
08:00The traveling garden gnome has been spotted on a new porch. Nobody admits to moving it.
09:00The community orchard is in blossom and briefly the best place in town.
10:00Saturday orchard morning is under way. Opinions about ladders are plentiful.
11:00The tide is out further than usual. Rex Callahan has gone to look at what it left behind.
11:02Toby Tanner argues it must be settled properly regardless, and is entirely right.
12:00A hedge has been trimmed one inch past a boundary. Diplomacy is under way.
13:00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
13:00The same passer-by has now walked past Truman Beaumont three times on the same route.
14:00Opal Ferris noticed the greetings had gone identical and improvised badly but successfully.
15:09Rex Callahan and Sal Marino kept their word and finished what they started.
16:00Truman Beaumont has taken the seat by the window with a view of the whole room. He does not usually.
17:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
17:00Opal Ferris fumbled Truman Beaumont's name and recovered it smoothly. Nobody breathed.
18:00The bakery sign flickered and, for a moment, read a different name entirely.
20:00It is warm enough to sit outside. Half the town has done exactly that.
22:00Clouds drift in over the bay. The fishermen pretend not to enjoy it.
22:10Hal Brody has ordered one for the road and then forgotten which road.
22:11Cole Whitlow is telling the same story again, now with improved weather.
22:20Lark Ferris is telling the same story again, now with improved weather.
22:24Ewan Callahan is telling the same story again, now with improved weather.
22:47Somebody behind the bar has quietly moved Edie Gorse onto the water. Edie Gorse has not noticed.
23:00Commotion at The Anchor! Hattie Whitlow and Jonah Ferris came to (very gentle) blows over a heated debate over the last pickled egg.
23:00Sheriff Brody has invited Jonah Ferris to spend the night in the cells. Everyone agrees this is for the best.
