Day 2000
What a day it was in Seahaven Springs — a day that began with stern words and handshakes, danced through rain and rainbows, and ended at The Anchor with the whole town gathering as if the evening had summoned them. Fern Gorse walked out of the sheriff's office lighter than she went in; Cole Whitlow chased the tide's secrets; and somewhere between Truman's bake-off fork and the heron's patient vigil at Miller's Pond, something shifted — old hurts cleared, stories began to find their shape, and even the weather seemed to be cooperating. Now Friday night blooms warm and full at the bar, where Rex's good glasses are out, chairs are being thanked for their service, and the fishermen are pretending not to enjoy the clouds rolling in over the bay. Tomorrow will come, as it always does in this kindest of towns, but tonight Seahaven Springs feels exactly like home.
