What a day in Seahaven Springs! Dot came home from the hospital looking every bit as capable as she did before, though Dr. Pratt seemed rather reluctant to let her go—and perhaps for good reason, given the two of them have settled into something rather lovely together. The leak at The Anchor that had plagued Rex all week is finally mended, the bucket retired to a place of honor, and tonight the bar was full of the sort of warmth that only comes after a small crisis has passed. There was even a gentle scuffle over a pickled egg between Hal and Fern that ended in laughter rather than lasting grudge, and as the evening drew on and the clouds cleared to reveal a rainbow so perfectly arced it seemed almost written into the sky, Truman walked home up the hill with June beside him, both of them quiet and content in the way of people who have found exactly what they were looking for.
