What a day in Seahaven Springs, where the sun seemed to know exactly when to break through the clouds, and Kip Tanner held his flour shortage with the gravity of a general rationing wartime supplies—which, in the bakery, is rather the same thing. Truman fed something that will surely come calling again (such is the law of small towns), while elsewhere the rainbow painted its arc over rooftops and the orchard bloomed as if reminding everyone why they stayed, and the mysterious repainting of that front door has already generated enough opinions to fuel a week of café conversations. Rain came and went, umbrellas opened in perfect synchrony, and Sunday supper drew the town toward The Salty Gull as it always does, where Rex and Sal are learning what it means to run a kitchen together, and where the tide is still giving up its secrets to those curious enough to look.
