Day 328

What a day in Seahaven Springs! The town clock stopped at twenty past four, and nobody could agree on when it happened—though that seemed almost beside the point when there were ladders to hold, bread smells to follow, and an orchard in full blossom to admire. Sal Marino faced off against a gull on the dock (the gull prevailed), the community came together with contradictory advice as they always do, and somewhere between the rainbow and the fog and the rain, Truman and Norma finished what they'd started, the traveling garden gnome moved houses again, and life in this quiet town simply hummed along—beautiful, ordinary, and just right.

What was announced

00The town clock has stopped at twenty past four. Nobody can agree on when it happened, which is itself a problem of some irony.
00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
00Fog has come in off the bay and stopped, very precisely, at the edge of town.
00The Bakery's fresh bread smell has reached the town square. Productivity plummets.
00The community orchard is in blossom and briefly the best place in town.
00Saturday orchard morning is under way. Opinions about ladders are plentiful.
00Sal Marino is in a staring contest with a gull on the dock. The gull is winning.
46Half the town turns up to hold ladders and offer contradictory advice.
00Nothing whatsoever is happening in Seahaven Springs. Bev Tanner appears to be enjoying it.
32Hal Brody has closed the notebook on one small Seahaven mystery, satisfied for now.
00The town ladder is on its fourth borrower this week and nobody is sure who owns it.
54Truman Beaumont and Norma Quist kept their word and finished what they started.
00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
00The lights of Seahaven Springs flickered for exactly three seconds. The town clock is unbothered.
00The traveling garden gnome has been spotted on a new porch. Nobody admits to moving it.
09Rex Callahan is telling the same story again, now with improved weather.
23Truman Beaumont is telling the same story again, now with improved weather.
