Day 371

June Ellery bounced back from Seahaven General with the resilience of spring itself, toasting Thursdays with the kind of joy only a recovered town clerk can muster—and by evening she was heading to The Salty Gull with a certain earnest insurance salesman on her arm. Meanwhile, the town's smaller mysteries hummed along: a ladder made the rounds like gossip, a gnome continued its mysterious travels, and two clocks in the center of town remained stubbornly convinced of different times, which felt very much like Seahaven Springs itself. As clouds drifted over the bay and Gus pretended not to admire them, the community orchard bloomed in brief perfection, someone played the same eight bars of piano with increasing confidence, and all the little threads of life—the babies growing, the new couples finding their footing, Norma's satisfied nod over a closed mystery—wove themselves together into another ordinary, perfect evening.
