Day 3742
Day 3742 in Seahaven Springs, under sunny skies. Kip Doyle and Dot Ferris have stopped leaving their friendship to chance. The traveling garden gnome has been spotted on a new porch. Nobody admits to moving it. Lark Ferris is not currently speaking to Cole Whitlow. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. A Visitor Is Expected runs into trouble. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.

08:00The traveling garden gnome has been spotted on a new porch. Nobody admits to moving it.
09:00The community orchard is in blossom and briefly the best place in town.
09:19Bram Tidewater has got to the bottom of it. The bottom was not far down.
10:00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
10:40Word goes round that someone is coming to Seahaven Springs. Nobody is sure who.
11:00A heron has taken up position at Miller's Pond and is refusing to be hurried.
13:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
13:00Three separate neighbours greeted Truman Beaumont with the identical sentence this morning.
13:46Fern Gorse and Elaine Whitlow have stopped leaving their friendship to chance.
15:00The orchard is loud with bees. Nobody has been stung in living memory.

16:00The radio in Truman Beaumont's kitchen has been persuaded to play his favourite song. He is singing along, badly.
18:00The tide is out further than usual. Sal Marino has gone to look at what it left behind.
18:00Jonah Ferris nearly answered Truman Beaumont early, and turned it into a cough.
18:54There were not enough plates at Opal Ferris's, and nobody minded.

20:00The sun breaks through over Seahaven Springs, precisely on cue.
21:00The light over Seahaven Springs this evening is almost unreasonably good.
21:00The bakery sign flickered and, for a moment, read a different name entirely.
22:00It is warm enough to sit outside. Half the town has done exactly that.
22:01Bram Tidewater has ordered one for the road and then forgotten which road.
22:07Wilf Tanner is describing a fish that grows between each telling.
22:25Hattie Whitlow is describing a fish that grows between each telling.
