The rain came gently to Seahaven Springs as the day wound down, and with it came the satisfying sense of a town settling into itself—umbrellas appearing like clockwork, puddles finding their familiar shapes, and everyone exactly where they belonged. Gus made music he'll never admit to making, chairs found their purposes at The Anchor, and somewhere in the quiet moments between the downpour, a postcard arrived bearing someone else's handwriting and a promise of somewhere far away. It was the kind of day where nothing much happened and everything felt exactly right, the sort of evening that reminds us why people stay in small towns: not because there's nowhere else to go, but because everything worth having is already here.
