Day 3801
Day 3801 in Seahaven Springs, under cloudy skies. A lighthouse postcard has been added to today's mail. Truman Beaumont collects them, and Control knows it. Alma Callahan and Bram Tidewater have quietly become the sort of friends who notice things. The Town Hall clock and the bakery clock disagree by two minutes. Both are certain. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. The Seed Loaf Question takes a turn. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
