Day 3850
Day 3850 in Seahaven Springs, under rainy skies. Gil Ferris has been released from the Sheriff's office with a stern word and a handshake. Edie Gorse is in a staring contest with a gull on the dock. The gull is winning. Mabel Tidewater has come down with a cough with genuine ambition and is being kept in for observation. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. Everybody, Slightly Left takes a turn. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
