Day 3896
Day 3896 in Seahaven Springs, under cloudy skies. A heron has taken up position at Miller's Pond and is refusing to be hurried. Linus Tidewater has got to the bottom of it. The bottom was not far down. Hattie Whitlow is not currently speaking to Alma Callahan. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. The Anonymous Good Deed reaches its conclusion. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
