Day 4206

Day 4206 in Seahaven Springs, under sunny skies. Word has gone round the kitchens: Truman Beaumont is to be given his favourite, and no bill. Hal Brody is not currently speaking to Alma Callahan. Flo Ferris is not currently speaking to Cass Tanner. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. The Plum Harvest reaches its conclusion. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.

What was announced

00:00Word has gone round the kitchens: Truman Beaumont is to be given his favourite, and no bill.
02:00Clouds drift in over the bay. The fishermen pretend not to enjoy it.
05:00Fog has come in off the bay and stopped, very precisely, at the edge of town.
09:00The sun breaks through over Seahaven Springs, precisely on cue.
10:00Saturday orchard morning is under way. Opinions about ladders are plentiful.
10:00The tide is out further than usual. Sal Marino has gone to look at what it left behind.
11:00A heron has taken up position at Miller's Pond and is refusing to be hurried.
11:55Whatever Bev Tanner and Milo Ferris were circling, they have landed on it.
12:00The Town Hall clock and the bakery clock disagree by two minutes. Both are certain.
14:00The town ladder is on its fourth borrower this week and nobody is sure who owns it.
14:29Dot Ferris has hosted the thing they kept meaning to host.
14:29Every kitchen in town now smells of plum. Nobody is complaining, exactly.
15:00Clouds drift in over the bay. The fishermen pretend not to enjoy it.
15:59Truman Beaumont and Edie Gorse kept their word and finished what they started.
16:00The photocopier at Seahaven Mutual is making the noise again. Cass Tanner has been elected to deal with it.
17:00The sun breaks through over Seahaven Springs, precisely on cue.
20:00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
21:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
22:03Fern Gorse offered to buy the room a drink, then checked a pocket.
22:05Dell Tanner is teaching the room a song that appears to have no chorus.
22:10Bea Callahan has decided the dartboard is at fault and said so publicly.
22:15Hattie Whitlow is negotiating with a bar stool and appears to be losing.
22:18Opal Ferris is conducting an imaginary orchestra near the dartboard.
22:44Truman Beaumont has ordered one for the road and then forgotten which road.
