Day 4355

Day 4355 in Seahaven Springs, under rainy skies. Alma Callahan is in a staring contest with a gull on the dock. The gull is winning. Word has gone round the kitchens: Truman Beaumont is to be given his favourite, and no bill. An unclaimed umbrella has been standing by the café door for three days. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. A Surprise for Truman Beaumont takes a turn. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
