Day 4581
Day 4581 in Seahaven Springs, under sunny skies. Bev Tanner has been discharged from Seahaven General and is right as rain. Bea Callahan is not currently speaking to Mabel Tidewater. Bea Callahan is cooling off in the Sheriff's holding cell after the business at The Anchor. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
OPEN THIS DAY IN THE BROADCASTWhat was announced
00:00Bev Tanner has been discharged from Seahaven General and is right as rain.
07:00The tide is out further than usual. Marla Finch has gone to look at what it left behind.
07:45Marla Finch and Elaine Whitlow have quietly become the sort of friends who notice things.
09:00The morning mail has arrived. Dot Ferris received a mysterious postcard.
12:00It is Wednesday lunch in Founders Park. Benches are being claimed diplomatically.
12:00Clouds drift in over the bay. The fishermen pretend not to enjoy it.
12:26The visit is postponed indefinitely. The cake is eaten by the welcoming committee.
12:26Cass Tanner and Lark Ferris kept their word and finished what they started.
12:26And so concludes: A Visitor Is Expected. The town will live with how it ended.
13:00The orchard is loud with bees. Nobody has been stung in living memory.
13:14Alma Callahan has stopped wondering about it, which is not quite the same as knowing.
13:20Kip Doyle and Dot Ferris have quietly become the sort of friends who notice things.
14:00For four seconds Truman Beaumont's radio carried a voice describing exactly where Truman Beaumont was standing.
14:00The radio in Truman Beaumont's kitchen has been persuaded to play his favourite song. He is singing along, badly.
14:25Ike Tidewater has turned sketching the shoreline into a real part of life.
15:00The sun breaks through over Seahaven Springs, precisely on cue.
16:00Somebody has repainted their front door overnight. Opinions are being gathered.
18:00Milo Ferris has arrived at the store without the list. This has happened before.
19:00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
20:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
20:43Wren Gorse and Kip Doyle postponed the matter, but neither has forgotten it.
21:00The light over Seahaven Springs this evening is almost unreasonably good.
22:00It is warm enough to sit outside. Half the town has done exactly that.
22:01Somebody behind the bar has quietly moved Alma Callahan onto the water. Alma Callahan has not noticed.
22:11Mabel Tidewater has proposed a toast to the concept of Thursdays.
22:13Fern Gorse has thanked every chair in The Anchor for its service.
22:17Jonah Ferris is describing a fish that grows between each telling.
22:26Somebody behind the bar has quietly moved Bea Callahan onto the water. Bea Callahan has not noticed.
23:00Commotion at The Anchor! Bea Callahan and Mabel Tidewater came to (very gentle) blows over a disputed game of dominoes.
23:00Sheriff Brody has invited Bea Callahan to spend the night in the cells. Everyone agrees this is for the best.
