Day 4673
Day 4673 in Seahaven Springs, under sunny skies. The Town Hall clock and the bakery clock disagree by two minutes. Both are certain. Marla Finch and Elaine Whitlow no longer need a reason to call round. The orchard is loud with bees. Nobody has been stung in living memory. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
