Day 4927
Day 4927 in Seahaven Springs, under rainy skies. Rex Callahan is in a staring contest with a gull on the dock. The gull is winning. Control has sent an old friend to sit with Truman Beaumont for a while. Nothing calms him faster. The puddle outside the Sunrise Café has returned to its usual dimensions. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.

00:00Control has sent an old friend to sit with Truman Beaumont for a while. Nothing calms him faster.
01:00The puddle outside the Sunrise Café has returned to its usual dimensions.
06:00The lights of Seahaven Springs flickered for exactly three seconds. The town clock is unbothered.
07:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
08:00The queue at the bakery has reached the door. Nobody minds; it is that kind of queue.
09:00The town cat is asleep on the Town Hall steps. Municipal business reroutes around it.
09:00Alma Callahan nearly answered Truman Beaumont early, and turned it into a cough.
09:14Alma Callahan and Marla Finch no longer need a reason to call round.
10:00Saturday orchard morning is under way. Opinions about ladders are plentiful.
10:00The community orchard is in blossom and briefly the best place in town.
11:00Clouds drift in over the bay. The fishermen pretend not to enjoy it.
13:00The sun breaks through over Seahaven Springs, precisely on cue.
13:18Bram Tidewater and Hattie Whitlow no longer need a reason to call round.
13:34The perfect loaf enters local legend, where it will improve every year.
13:34Edie Gorse and Ike Tidewater kept their word and finished what they started.
13:34And so concludes: The Loaf That Cannot Be Repeated. The town will live with how it ended.
14:00The Town Hall clock and the bakery clock disagree by two minutes. Both are certain.
15:00A heron has taken up position at Miller's Pond and is refusing to be hurried.
16:00The photocopier at Seahaven Mutual is making the noise again. Alma Callahan has been elected to deal with it.
17:00Rex Callahan is in a staring contest with a gull on the dock. The gull is winning.
18:00The light over Seahaven Springs this evening is almost unreasonably good.
18:34Mabel Tidewater and Bram Tidewater kept their word and finished what they started.
21:00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
22:03The Anchor's piano is being played by Gil Ferris, who cannot play piano.
22:07Milo Ferris has ordered one for the road and then forgotten which road.
22:08Abel Callahan offered to buy the room a drink, then checked a pocket.
22:18Linus Tidewater has decided the dartboard is at fault and said so publicly.
22:23Ike Tidewater is teaching the room a song that appears to have no chorus.
