Day 5134

Day 5134 in Seahaven Springs, under rainy skies. Alma Callahan has been released from the Sheriff's office with a stern word and a handshake. Alma Callahan is not currently speaking to Cass Tanner. Nell Tidewater was born to Mabel Tidewater and Dell Tanner. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. What Our Song Actually Is reaches its conclusion. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.

What was announced

00:00Alma Callahan has been released from the Sheriff's office with a stern word and a handshake.
00:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
02:00Clouds drift in over the bay. The fishermen pretend not to enjoy it.
07:00The sun breaks through over Seahaven Springs, precisely on cue.
09:00The Bakery's fresh bread smell has reached the town square. Productivity plummets.
09:08Ned Ferris has got to the bottom of it. The bottom was not far down.
10:10Rex Callahan is not brilliant at keeping a notebook about the pond, and is no longer pretending to be. It stuck anyway.
11:46Four versions are performed. All four are moving. None of them match.
12:00It is Wednesday lunch in Founders Park. Benches are being claimed diplomatically.
12:00The same passer-by has now walked past Truman Beaumont three times on the same route.
13:00A form has been filed correctly at the first attempt. Town Hall is quietly jubilant.
15:00Hal Brody has arrived at the store without the list. This has happened before.
17:00A heron has taken up position at Miller's Pond and is refusing to be hurried.
17:25Truman Beaumont and Ike Tidewater kept their word and finished what they started.
19:00Someone is practising the same eight bars of piano again. The town has grown fond of them.
20:00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
21:00The puddle outside the Sunrise Café has returned to its usual dimensions.
22:00Faint harmonica music was heard from the dock. Everybody denies everything.
22:06The Anchor's piano is being played by Gil Ferris, who cannot play piano.
22:19Milo Ferris is telling the same story again, now with improved weather.
22:36The Anchor's piano is being played by Linus Tidewater, who cannot play piano.
22:37Bea Callahan has declared this the finest town in the world. Twice.
