Day 5171
Day 5171 in Seahaven Springs, under cloudy skies. A lighthouse postcard has been added to today's mail. Truman Beaumont collects them, and Control knows it. Edie Gorse is a delighted new parent. Ewan Callahan is a delighted new parent. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
OPEN THIS DAY IN THE BROADCASTWhat was announced
00:00A lighthouse postcard has been added to today's mail. Truman Beaumont collects them, and Control knows it.
01:00The sun breaks through over Seahaven Springs, precisely on cue.
07:00The Town Hall clock and the bakery clock disagree by two minutes. Both are certain.
08:00Clouds drift in over the bay. The fishermen pretend not to enjoy it.
09:00There is one more chair at The Anchor than there was yesterday. Rex has not mentioned it.
10:00Marla Finch has received a postcard from somewhere far away. The handwriting is unfamiliar.
11:39The roof is mended. The bucket is kept, on principle.
11:39Truman Beaumont and Marla Finch kept their word and finished what they started.
11:39And so concludes: The Leak at The Bakery. The town will live with how it ended.
13:00The lights of Seahaven Springs flickered for exactly three seconds. The town clock is unbothered.
14:00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
14:00Cole Whitlow answered a question Truman Beaumont had not asked out loud.
14:00Milo Ferris is not brilliant at keeping a notebook about the pond, and is no longer pretending to be. It stuck anyway.
18:00Friday evening has begun at The Anchor. Rex is polishing the good glasses.
18:00The rain has driven everyone indoors, and the café is doing the best trade of the week.
19:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
19:44Rex Callahan has proposed a toast to the concept of Thursdays.
19:48Wren Gorse has explained the tides three times, differently each time.
20:00Faint harmonica music was heard from the dock. Everybody denies everything.
20:06Bram Tidewater has begun a heartfelt speech with no clear subject.
20:10Ned Ferris is teaching the room a song that appears to have no chorus.
20:30Elaine Whitlow is negotiating with a bar stool and appears to be losing.
20:36Dell Tanner is describing a fish that grows between each telling.
20:45Mabel Tidewater and Dot Ferris kept their word and finished what they started.
21:00Clouds drift in over the bay. The fishermen pretend not to enjoy it.
21:14Flo Ferris is describing a fish that grows between each telling.
21:56Alma Callahan offered to buy the room a drink, then checked a pocket.
