Day 5174
Day 5174 in Seahaven Springs, under sunny skies. Hal Brody has been released from the Sheriff's office with a stern word and a handshake. Hal Brody is not currently speaking to Flo Ferris. Posy Gorse was born to Edie Gorse and Ewan Callahan. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. The Clock Is Two Minutes Fast takes a turn. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
OPEN THIS DAY IN THE BROADCASTWhat was announced
00:00Hal Brody has been released from the Sheriff's office with a stern word and a handshake.
00:00The town clock has stopped at twenty past four. Nobody can agree on when it happened, which is itself a problem of some irony.
00:00The radio in Truman Beaumont's kitchen has been persuaded to play his favourite song. He is singing along, badly.
07:27There were not enough plates at Flo Ferris's, and nobody minded.
09:51Cole Whitlow and Mabel Tidewater have got into the habit of each other.
12:23Lark Ferris has been early to everything for a week and rather enjoys it.
13:00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
13:00Bev Tanner noticed the greetings had gone identical and improvised badly but successfully.
13:02Bev Tanner and Milo Ferris no longer need a reason to call round.
14:00A kite is stuck in the big park tree. A committee is forming.
15:22Lark Ferris and Alma Callahan kept their word and finished what they started.
16:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
17:00A hedge has been trimmed one inch past a boundary. Diplomacy is under way.
18:00Rain fell in a single column, precisely on Truman Beaumont, and nowhere else in Seahaven Springs.
20:00It is warm enough to sit outside. Half the town has done exactly that.
21:16Edie Gorse and Ewan Callahan have stopped leaving their friendship to chance.
21:54Gil Ferris is negotiating with a bar stool and appears to be losing.
21:55Cass Tanner has ordered one for the road and then forgotten which road.
21:58Abel Callahan is telling the same story again, now with improved weather.
22:00The bakery sign flickered and, for a moment, read a different name entirely.
22:20Linus Tidewater has begun a heartfelt speech with no clear subject.
22:21Iris Brody has thanked every chair in The Anchor for its service.
22:21Bea Callahan is telling the same story again, now with improved weather.
