Day 5229
Day 5229 in Seahaven Springs, under cloudy skies. Dot Ferris has been released from the Sheriff's office with a stern word and a handshake. Dot Ferris is not currently speaking to Bram Tidewater. Posy Gorse was born to Edie Gorse and Ewan Callahan. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. The Bench at The Promenade reaches its conclusion. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.

08:00The sun breaks through over Seahaven Springs, precisely on cue.
09:00For four seconds Truman Beaumont's radio carried a voice describing exactly where Truman Beaumont was standing.
09:21learning the orchard properly has stopped being something Fern Gorse is trying, and become something they do.
10:41sketching the shoreline has stopped being something Alma Callahan is trying, and become something they do.

12:00The community orchard is in blossom and briefly the best place in town.
12:00A studio lamp came loose and struck the road beside Truman Beaumont. Control has logged it as "debris".
13:00The town ladder is on its fourth borrower this week and nobody is sure who owns it.
13:00Truman Beaumont has taken the seat by the window with a view of the whole room. He does not usually.
13:29Both sides are heard at length. Neither changes its mind, warmly.
14:00There is one more chair at The Anchor than there was yesterday. Rex has not mentioned it.
15:00A kite is stuck in the big park tree. A committee is forming.
16:00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
16:59Linus Tidewater and Perry Gorse kept their word and finished what they started.
17:00Sunday supper is drawing the town toward The Salty Gull.
18:00Business is slow enough that Ned Ferris has been sent home early. Nobody argues.
18:44Ewan Callahan and Ned Ferris have cleared the air over a quiet chat.

19:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
19:54Edie Gorse has closed the notebook on one small Seahaven mystery, satisfied for now.
21:00The light over Seahaven Springs this evening is almost unreasonably good.
22:00Clouds drift in over the bay. The fishermen pretend not to enjoy it.
