Day 5439
Day 5439 in Seahaven Springs, under sunny skies. Fog has come in off the bay and stopped, very precisely, at the edge of town. Elaine Whitlow has received a postcard from somewhere far away. The handwriting is unfamiliar. Abel Callahan is not currently speaking to Perry Gorse. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
