Day 5459
Day 5459 in Seahaven Springs, under sunny skies. Mabel Tidewater is in a staring contest with a gull on the dock. The gull is winning. Milo Ferris is not currently speaking to Iris Brody. Dell Tanner is not currently speaking to Ike Tidewater. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. Whose Ladder Is This takes a turn. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
OPEN THIS DAY IN THE BROADCASTWhat was announced
00:00Control has sent an old friend to sit with Truman Beaumont for a while. Nothing calms him faster.
01:17Perry Gorse and Truman Beaumont no longer need a reason to call round.
07:28Cole Whitlow has kept at sketching the shoreline long enough that the town expects it now.
07:32Fern Gorse has got to the bottom of it. The bottom was not far down.
09:00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
10:00Saturday orchard morning is under way. Opinions about ladders are plentiful.
11:00The puddle outside the Sunrise Café has returned to its usual dimensions.
12:00Mabel Tidewater is in a staring contest with a gull on the dock. The gull is winning.
12:19Truman Beaumont borrows it for something brief. It does not come back briefly.
14:00A form has been filed correctly at the first attempt. Town Hall is quietly jubilant.
15:00The rain has driven everyone indoors, and the café is doing the best trade of the week.
16:00The Town Hall clock and the bakery clock disagree by two minutes. Both are certain.
16:26Truman Beaumont and Iris Brody kept their word and finished what they started.
17:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
17:31practising stories worth telling has stopped being something Hal Brody is trying, and become something they do.
18:00The tide is out further than usual. Jonah Ferris has gone to look at what it left behind.
19:00Someone is practising the same eight bars of piano again. The town has grown fond of them.
22:22Fern Gorse has begun a heartfelt speech with no clear subject.
22:34Opal Ferris is describing a fish that grows between each telling.
23:00Commotion at The Anchor! Iris Brody and Milo Ferris came to (very gentle) blows over a heated debate over the last pickled egg.
