Episode
Day 5669
Day 5669 in Seahaven Springs, under sunny skies. Cass Tanner is in a staring contest with a gull on the dock. The gull is winning. Dot Ferris is in Seahaven General after they lost a disagreement with a deckchair on the promenade. Elaine Whitlow is not currently speaking to Iris Brody. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
OPEN THIS DAY IN THE BROADCASTWhat was announced
00:00An unclaimed umbrella has been standing by the café door for three days.
00:00A lighthouse postcard has been added to today's mail. Truman Beaumont collects them, and Control knows it.
04:00The sun breaks through over Seahaven Springs, precisely on cue.
09:00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
10:00Saturday orchard morning is under way. Opinions about ladders are plentiful.
10:52The face is agreed to be somebody passing through. The photograph is framed anyway.
10:52Truman Beaumont and Marla Finch kept their word and finished what they started.
10:52And so concludes: The Photograph Nobody Can Explain. The town will live with how it ended.
11:00Cass Tanner is in a staring contest with a gull on the dock. The gull is winning.
12:00A heron has taken up position at Miller's Pond and is refusing to be hurried.
13:00The rain has driven everyone indoors, and the café is doing the best trade of the week.
13:25Whatever Ewan Callahan and Edie Gorse were circling, they have landed on it.
14:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
14:00Somebody has been sent to need Truman Beaumont urgently, and to reach him before he asks anyone about a boat.
15:00The tide is out further than usual. Bea Callahan has gone to look at what it left behind.
17:00The community orchard is in blossom and briefly the best place in town.
17:00Dot Ferris lost a disagreement with a deckchair on the promenade and is spending a few days in Seahaven General.
17:00A studio lamp came loose and struck the road beside Truman Beaumont. Control has logged it as "debris".
18:41Lark Ferris and Abel Callahan have got into the habit of each other.
19:00The light over Seahaven Springs this evening is almost unreasonably good.
20:00Clouds drift in over the bay. The fishermen pretend not to enjoy it.
20:00Sal Marino nearly answered Truman Beaumont early, and turned it into a cough.
20:22Cass Tanner and Dot Ferris kept their word and finished what they started.
21:00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
21:46Somebody behind the bar has quietly moved Hal Brody onto the water. Hal Brody has not noticed.
21:59Opal Ferris has declared this the finest town in the world. Twice.
22:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
22:00Commotion at The Anchor! Opal Ferris and Hal Brody came to (very gentle) blows over an argument about the correct way to pronounce "buoy".
22:22Alma Callahan is teaching the room a song that appears to have no chorus.
