Day 5824
Day 5824 in Seahaven Springs, under cloudy skies. Perry Gorse has been released from the Sheriff's office with a stern word and a handshake. The contest ends in a tie. A rematch is scheduled for next season. Perry Gorse is not currently speaking to Posy Gorse. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
OPEN THIS DAY IN THE BROADCASTWhat was announced
00:00Perry Gorse has been released from the Sheriff's office with a stern word and a handshake.
00:00The town clock has stopped at twenty past four. Nobody can agree on when it happened, which is itself a problem of some irony.
08:32Marla Finch has an answer, of a sort, and has decided it will do.
09:00The sun breaks through over Seahaven Springs, precisely on cue.
09:25Wren Gorse's small gathering has come together, with just enough chairs and no speeches.
10:00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
11:26The contest ends in a tie. A rematch is scheduled for next season.
11:26Wren Gorse and Rex Callahan kept their word and finished what they started.
11:26And so concludes: The Great Pie-Baking Rivalry. The town will live with how it ended.
14:00The photocopier at Seahaven Mutual is making the noise again. Nell Tidewater has been elected to deal with it.
15:00A kite is stuck in the big park tree. A committee is forming.
16:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
17:00Sunday supper is drawing the town toward The Salty Gull.
17:00A seagull has stolen Opal Ferris's sandwich near the dock. Again.
18:00Business is slow enough that Edie Gorse has been sent home early. Nobody argues.
18:00Something glinted in the hedge at eye height, tracking Truman Beaumont as he passed.
19:24Alma Callahan and Kip Doyle kept their word and finished what they started.
20:00Faint harmonica music was heard from the dock. Everybody denies everything.
21:00It is warm enough to sit outside. Half the town has done exactly that.
22:00Clouds drift in over the bay. The fishermen pretend not to enjoy it.
