Day 5859
Day 5859 in Seahaven Springs, under sunny skies. The Town Hall clock and the bakery clock disagree by two minutes. Both are certain. Somebody behind the bar has quietly moved Hattie Whitlow onto the water. Hattie Whitlow has not noticed. Flo Ferris and Nell Tidewater have cleared the air over a quiet chat. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
