Day 5942
Day 5942 in Seahaven Springs, under sunny skies. Alma Callahan has been discharged from Seahaven General and is right as rain. Word has gone round the kitchens: Truman Beaumont is to be given his favourite, and no bill. Bram Tidewater is not currently speaking to Gil Ferris. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. A Wager on the Weather runs into trouble. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
OPEN THIS DAY IN THE BROADCASTWhat was announced
00:00Alma Callahan has been discharged from Seahaven General and is right as rain.
00:00Word has gone round the kitchens: Truman Beaumont is to be given his favourite, and no bill.
09:00The morning mail has arrived. Cass Tanner received a mysterious postcard.
09:08Iris Brody and Marla Finch no longer need a reason to call round.
10:00Saturday orchard morning is under way. Opinions about ladders are plentiful.
11:00Somebody has repainted their front door overnight. Opinions are being gathered.
11:55Dell Tanner bets Flo Ferris that tomorrow will be glorious. The stakes are one coffee.
12:00The orchard is loud with bees. Nobody has been stung in living memory.
13:00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
14:00A seagull has stolen Mabel Tidewater's sandwich near the dock. Again.
15:00The rain has driven everyone indoors, and the café is doing the best trade of the week.
16:00Something glinted in the hedge at eye height, tracking Truman Beaumont as he passed.
16:39Hal Brody has got to the bottom of it. The bottom was not far down.
17:00The town ladder is on its fourth borrower this week and nobody is sure who owns it.
18:20Hattie Whitlow's small gathering has come together, with just enough chairs and no speeches.
20:00The puddle outside the Sunrise Café has returned to its usual dimensions.
20:00A studio lamp came loose and struck the road beside Truman Beaumont. Control has logged it as "debris".
20:00Truman Beaumont has taken a route home that is twice as long, and stopped twice on the way.
21:00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
21:45Hal Brody is explaining boats to anyone who will listen down at The Anchor.
22:00It is warm enough to sit outside. Half the town has done exactly that.
22:06Bea Callahan has decided the dartboard is at fault and said so publicly.
22:10Cole Whitlow has become extremely confident about lighthouse engineering.
22:20Posy Gorse has ordered one for the road and then forgotten which road.
