Day 5945
Day 5945 in Seahaven Springs, under rainy skies. Marla Finch is in a staring contest with a gull on the dock. The gull is winning. Word has gone round the kitchens: Truman Beaumont is to be given his favourite, and no bill. Fog has come in off the bay and stopped, very precisely, at the edge of town. Nothing bad ever happens here — but something is always going on. Goodnight, Truman. In case we don't see you: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
