Day 729

Day 729 brought rain and mystery to Seahaven Springs, but the sky cleared to reveal a rainbow so perfectly angled that even the cynics couldn't argue with it. Truman and Elaine finished what they'd started, small mysteries folded neatly away, and down at The Anchor—where Milo Ferris was bravely murdering the piano and Flo Tidewater conducted an invisible orchestra—the town gathered to celebrate nothing in particular and everything all at once. Abel, grown now and cooking in Sal's kitchen, began a speech about something nobody quite caught, but it didn't matter; the light was unreasonably good, and for a moment, even the fishermen admitted they were happy. Tomorrow will bring new questions, but tonight, Seahaven Springs simply sat outside and let the evening happen.
