Day 1029
Day 1029 brought gentle relief to Seahaven Springs: Lark Ferris came home from the hospital feeling herself again, and the town settled into that particular Sunday warmth where everyone drifts toward Sal's kitchen without quite deciding to. Truman stood at the dock watching the tide, lost in thought as he so often is, while overhead a rainbow bent across the bay like a promise. The baker's queue snaked out the door—nobody minded, because some queues are about the pastries and some are about belonging—and Rex opened a mysterious postcard that set his eyes dreaming of somewhere far away. By evening, the clouds had drifted back over the water, the fishermen were pretending not to notice how beautiful it all was, and Seahaven Springs did what it does best: it held everyone gently in its palm, asking nothing but presence.
