Truman found another lighthouse postcard in the mail and spent a good portion of the afternoon in a quiet disagreement with the clock tower, which continues to run its own schedule regardless of what anyone else believes. Meanwhile, the town noticed small mysteries blooming everywhere: a repainted door, a baker's sign that briefly forgot its own name, and a heron at Miller's Pond who has decided to stay awhile. By evening, half of Seahaven Springs had settled into chairs to watch the warm light linger, and somewhere in the distance, someone played the same eight bars of piano again—a melody the town has learned to love like an old friend's laugh.
