Day 1467
What a day it was in Seahaven Springs—the kind where the weather seemed to choreograph itself around the town's rhythms, umbrellas blooming and clearing just in time for that perfect rainbow. Down at Kip's bakery, the queue stretched all the way to the door, but nobody minded one bit; the warmth inside was almost as good as the pastries. Over at The Anchor, young Hattie Whitlow was giving the piano her absolute best effort, even if the notes came out more enthusiastic than elegant, while her brother Cole was busy handing out compliments in alphabetical order—leaving everyone wondering what came next. Meanwhile, the community orchard's surprise bounty of greengaes has the whole town dreaming up pies and preserves, and somewhere in town, someone's been practicing the same eight bars over and over, until Seahaven itself learned to love the repetition. It was one of those gentle, bittersweet evenings where everything feels just right, even when nothing much has happened at all.
