By evening the rain had cleared to reveal a rainbow so perfectly placed it seemed almost choreographed by the town itself, and somewhere in The Anchor, Rex was already raising a glass to the promise of Thursdays ahead. Even the unclaimed umbrella by the café seemed content to wait another day for its owner to remember where they'd left it.
