Day 1645

What a day in Seahaven Springs! Bea Callahan walked out of the hospital good as new, the plum harvest brought victory and fresh bread to every corner of town, and a timely rainbow painted itself across the sky as if someone had ordered it specially. But beneath the gentle weather and the bustling café, a mystery lingers: poor Hal Brody sits in Seahaven General with a rash nobody can quite name, while Bram Tidewater keeps playing that piano with admirable confidence and absolutely no skill. And somewhere down at the tide line, Truman Beaumont is still looking at whatever the bay decided to leave behind—a man content to stand at the edge of things, collecting postcards and small wonders, never quite knowing how perfectly his life is being tended.
