What a day in our beloved Seahaven Springs! The mackerel may have moved on, leaving the town's kitchens to make do for a week, but there was plenty of drama to fill the void—particularly at The Anchor, where a spirited disagreement over the last pickled egg between Rex and Jonah ended in a gentle scuffle that earned Rex an invitation to spend the night in Sheriff Brody's comfortable holding cell, a fate he seems to have accepted with good humor. Meanwhile, Truman lost his lunch to a persistent seagull once again, a lighthouse postcard arrived in the mail (as they do, like clockwork), and elsewhere in town, Fern Gorse and Iris Brody mended fences over a quiet chat, the mysterious piano player continued their eight-bar meditation, and little Wilf Tanner—newest arrival to Seahaven Springs and son of Bev and Milo—slept through it all undisturbed. Tomorrow the town will wake to clear the air, settle scores, and set the stage for whatever gentle troubles tomorrow brings.
