What a day in Seahaven Springs! June emerged from the hospital hale and hearty, just as the bakery's irresistible aroma turned the whole town square into a dreamy stupor. A kite found itself tangled in the old park tree—which means a committee has formed, naturally—while that mischievous seagull made off with poor Kip's sandwich once more. The weather played its part too: rain came, then cleared to reveal a rainbow so perfectly framed it seemed almost choreographed, and through it all, our dear Truman remained at the center of things, safe and sound, with old friends nearby and the whole town moving in its gentle, synchronous rhythms. By evening, the traveling garden gnome had materialized on yet another new porch, and somewhere down at the dock, Gus was almost certainly not playing his harmonica. Just another perfect, peculiar day in our little seaside town.
