Day 1706

What a peculiar and perfect Friday it was in Seahaven Springs—one of those days where the weather seemed to have opinions, the town ladder continued its mysterious journey from hand to hand, and an umbrella by the café door remained stubbornly unclaimed, waiting for its moment. By evening, The Anchor filled with the usual Friday warmth: Jonah Ferris gamely attacking the piano, Elaine spinning tales with the kind of certainty that only comes after a drink or two, and Rex—sweet Rex—thanking the chairs for their service with the solemnity of a ship's captain. Somewhere in the fog and the tide and the seagulls stealing sandwiches, Seahaven Springs hummed along exactly as it should, strange and small and utterly itself.
