Dot returned from the hospital to find the town running smoothly without her—though not perfectly—while Truman pondered postcards by the fountain and a seagull continued its reign of terror at the docks. The rain came and went with cinematic flair, the orchard burst into bloom, and somewhere in all of it, Orson Ferris mixed up a name, fixed a photocopier, and thanked every chair at The Anchor for its quiet service. As the sun broke through one last time, the tide retreated and revealed its secrets, and our little town settled into evening with the satisfied air of a place where everything somehow works out, even when nobody quite understands how.
