Day 1823
Day 1823 dawned with rain and puddles, but by evening Seahaven Springs had earned its reputation for gentle perfection: the clouds parted, a rainbow arced over the bay at precisely the right angle, and half the town found themselves sitting outside in the golden light, claiming benches and watching the fishermen pretend not to enjoy the weather. Truman finished his work with Elaine in the garden, the photocopier at the insurance office made its familiar complaint, and down at The Anchor a spirited disagreement about fish caught between Cole Whitlow and Bram Tidewater—one of those small-town squabbles that Sheriff Brody knew would settle best with a night in the holding cell and a clear head come morning. Tomorrow the town will bring sandwiches, share gossip warmly, and move on, as Seahaven Springs always does.
