What a day Seahaven Springs had—rain and rainbows, blossoms and borrowed ladders, all swirling around our dear Truman, who received a second mysterious gift at the office and spent the afternoon grinning like a man who believes in small magics. While the town gathered for Sunday supper at The Salty Gull, Dot made her rounds at Seahaven General, checking on Orson (who lost a fight with a garden gnome) and Toby (who underestimated the dock's slippery nature), and somewhere in the evening light, a kite caught itself in the park tree and gave everyone something to wonder about tomorrow. Even the ladder, passed from hand to hand all week like a mysterious torch, seemed to know it belonged exactly where it was.
