Day 1995

What a day it's been in Seahaven Springs! Dot emerged from the hospital hale and hearty, her spirits lifted further by Kip's attentive company—the bakery owner seems to have found his way into the nurse's good graces quite thoroughly. Meanwhile, Marla had a brief misunderstanding with the sheriff that ended in a handshake, as these things do, though word is she's still rather cross with Wilf Tanner over something or other. Young Toby Tanner wasn't so lucky: a runaway trolley left them with a twisted ankle and a few days' stay in Dot's ward, though the whole town seems determined to cheer them up. Through it all, Truman went about his business with his usual cheerful obliviousness, ate a meal at The Salty Gull without paying a penny, and finished some project with Elaine that had them both looking rather pleased with themselves by day's end. As the sun set over the bay in that particular golden way it does, umbrellas popped open again to greet the rain, and Seahaven Springs settled into its Sunday evening, warm and tangled with the small mysteries that make a town feel alive.
