By evening, The Anchor was alive with music (Flo Tidewater at the piano, bless her heart), laughter, and just enough gentle chaos that Pearl Gorse and she came to cross words about fishing tales, ending with Pearl spending a peaceful night in Sheriff Brody's holding cell—which everyone agrees is exactly where she needs to be right now. Tomorrow the rainbow will have faded, but the kindness of this town, and the way it holds its people close, will linger on.
