Day 251

Saturday in Seahaven Springs unfolded in golden light and gentle chaos—Sal emerged from the hospital ready for life again, the bakery queue stretched contentedly out the door, and bees hummed their approval over the orchard. Truman wandered home with a song in his throat and a forgotten destination, while Gus pretended the gathering clouds held no charms whatsoever, and somewhere near Miller's Pond a heron stood absolutely still, teaching the town once more the virtue of patience. It was the kind of day that feels unremarkable until you notice how many small moments of happiness fit into it—and then you understand that this is exactly the point.
