What a day it was in Seahaven Springs — rain and rainbows, committees forming around kites, and the whole town drifting toward supper like leaves on a current. Hal ventured out to see what the tide had left behind, while Elaine filled another page of her pond notebook, and somewhere in the bakery queue nobody minded standing in, life simply went on. Even Truman, pretending he hadn't heard the whispers, seemed content to let the day wash over him. And as evening settled in and the clouds gathered again over the bay, Seahaven Springs did what it does best: it turned an ordinary Sunday into something worth watching.
