What a day it's been in Seahaven Springs—Truman walked out of the Sheriff's office with nothing but a stern word and Sheriff Hal's firm handshake, the rain cleared to reveal a rainbow so perfectly angled it seemed almost to whisper, and somewhere in the morning post came a mysterious postcard that's set his curious mind to work. The community orchard is dressed in blossom now, drawing folks like moths to flame, while every kitchen in town has filled with the smell of apple and nobody's minded one bit; even the heron at Miller's Pond has settled in to stay awhile, patient as only herons know how to be. Tonight the whole town drifts toward The Salty Gull for Sunday supper, and though the lights flickered three times this evening—curious, that—the town clock didn't even blink, and neither did we.
