Day 350

What a day in Seahaven Springs! Dr. Pratt emerged from the sheriff's office with his dignity mostly intact and a handshake from Hal, while young Fern Gorse went home from the hospital right as rain—the whole town seemed to exhale at once. The fog rolled in off the bay with such precision it stopped dead at the town's edge, as if it knew the boundaries, and the bakery queue stretched out the door in that contented way that means Kip's been baking all morning. By evening, the community orchard was abloom, Rex had somehow gotten Gus out on the water without him noticing, and Sunday supper was drawing everyone toward The Salty Gull—rain beginning to fall just as umbrellas came out, synchronized as only a small town can manage. Love is in the air, notebooks are being kept, front doors are being repainted, and somewhere in all of it, Truman is probably wondering how a Tuesday could feel so full.
