Day 349
What a day in Seahaven Springs! The tide went out, the bees hummed loud in the orchard, and a mysterious postcard found its way to Dr. Pratt's mailbox—though nobody's quite sure from where. Truman had his sandwich stolen by a seagull near the dock (third time this month, the poor fellow), but an old friend stopped by to keep him company, and by evening he was walking hand-in-hand with June under a rainbow so perfectly placed it made even the cynics smile. Meanwhile, Hal and Dot made good on a promise made weeks ago, Gus stared down a gull with the determination of a man who will never quite admit he's enjoying himself, and somewhere in Town Hall, a cat napped peacefully on the steps while the committee searched high and low for a box of bunting that's vanished into thin air. All in all, just another Saturday in our little seaside town—where the weather obeys the moment, the seagulls are always one step ahead, and love keeps finding its way through even the most ordinary afternoons.
OPEN THIS DAY IN THE BROADCAST
What was announced
00Clouds drift in over the bay. Gus pretends not to enjoy it.
00The tide is out further than usual. Flo Tidewater has gone to look at what it left behind.
00The morning mail has arrived. Dr. Cornelius Pratt received a mysterious postcard.
00Saturday orchard morning is under way. Opinions about ladders are plentiful.
00The orchard is loud with bees. Nobody has been stung in living memory.
00The photocopier at Seahaven Mutual is making the noise again. Hal Brody has been elected to deal with it.
00A seagull has stolen Truman Beaumont's sandwich near the dock. Again.
00A studio lamp came loose and struck the road beside Truman Beaumont. Control has logged it as "debris".
00Control has sent an old friend to sit with Truman Beaumont for a while. Nothing calms him faster.
42A box of festival bunting has vanished, and the committee is in a very polite panic.
00The town cat is asleep on the Town Hall steps. Municipal business reroutes around it.
00Gus Tidewater is in a staring contest with a gull on the dock. The gull is winning.
00The sun breaks through over Seahaven Springs, precisely on cue.
00Rain has begun over Seahaven Springs. Umbrellas deployed with suspicious synchronization.
11Hal Brody and Dot Ferris kept their word and finished what they started.
00The rain has cleared. A rainbow appeared at a frankly cinematic angle.
