What a day in Seahaven Springs! The community orchard burst into bloom while the bakery's bread perfume rendered the whole town delightfully useless, and June Ellery found herself gently moved onto the water by Rex Callahan before she quite realized it—a lovely accident that seemed to delight them both. But the evening took a turn when Dr. Pratt and Bev Tanner came to cheerful blows over the jukebox at The Anchor, a disagreement spirited enough that Sheriff Brody invited the good doctor to cool his heels in the holding cell for the night, which everyone agrees was probably wise. Through it all, Truman wandered home with June, humming something he couldn't quite name, while a kite dangled from the park tree and a traveling garden gnome appeared on yet another unsuspecting porch—and somewhere on the dock, Gus Tidewater denied all knowledge of a harmonica that had definitely been heard playing.
