Truman and Sal finished what they'd promised, Gus watched the clouds roll in with a gruff contentment, and somewhere between umbrellas and rainbows, the town carried on with its small wagers and shared silences. By evening the sky had cleared to something almost impossibly beautiful, and life in our little seaside town settled into another night—comfortable, full, and exactly as it ought to be.
